Ottawa

Date Established: July 1979

Propagation efforts in Ottawa were begun by a Portuguese Hokyoshi couple back in 1976. In the beginning, a minister from the NY Church would periodically visit to assist the members. Then, thanks to the efforts and pure faith of the pioneer Hokyoshi couple, membership rapidly grew to over a hundred members in a very short period of time, and in 1979, a head minister was appointed from Japan to take care of the church and its members. In 2004, the year of their 25th anniversary, an opportunity to construct a new church building arose, and the new church was completed in May 2007. Ottawa Church is currently the only church in Canada and takes care of members residing not only in Ottawa, but also in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver as well.

Church Activities: “PL Thanksgiving Service” held on the 21st of every month, Sunday Services, other church services and ceremonies (please see link for detailed schedule and information), Mother’s Day and Father’s Day BBQ’s, beautification activities in the communities surrounding the church, garage sales, among other activities. Members also take part in various local community events.
